Every time the keyboard opens, it rises with bare switches and the keycaps snap in, with sound.

Key preview

Show an enlarged letter above the key while pressing.

Show symbols on keys

Each letter shows, in the corner, the symbol you get by long-pressing it.

Key spring

How fast the key pops back up after you let go. Lower is softer and slower, higher is snappy.

Brightness

Like a backlit keyboard: turn it up and the letters get whiter with a soft glow; turn it down and they dim until they look switched off.

Function key paint

How strong the legends on Shift, Delete, Enter and the page keys are. Lower blends them into the key.

The key you press lights up in the color you choose. With reflections on, its color also shows on the keys around it.

Keyboard height

Makes the keys taller or shorter, from 80% to 130%.

Space below keyboard

Lifts the keys away from the bottom edge of the screen.

Space between keys

Puts the keys in a row closer together or further apart, from 0 to 16 dp.

Space between rows

Puts the rows closer together or further apart, from 0 to 20 dp.

Rounded top corners

Makes the top corners of the keyboard square or round, up to 32 dp.

Grabber

Hold the dotted grille and drag to change the key height, without opening Settings.

Responsive keys

On: dragging changes the height of the keys and the space below is set to 30 dp (you can still change it). Off: the keys keep their height and dragging changes the space below the keyboard.

Key sounds

Every key plays the sound of the switch you chose.

Switch type

The sound of the keys: from the click of Mechanical to a muffled tap.

Volume

The volume of the key sounds, from 0% to 100%.

Mute in silent mode

On: no key sounds on silent or vibrate. Off: key sounds play even on silent or vibrate, at the media volume.

Strength

How strongly the keys vibrate, from off to 100%.

Space bar

Its own, fuller buzz. 0% turns it off only for the space bar.

Vibrate when moving the cursor and deleting

A light tap for each step when you slide on the space bar, and for each deletion while holding Backspace.

Unlock a Signature theme

Use your Brams Points to unlock a Signature theme for good.

Swipe to type

Slide your finger across the letters without lifting it.

Voice typing

Shows the microphone button on the toolbar. Turn off to hide it.

Stop after silence

How much silence after you speak ends voice typing: 1 to 5 seconds.

Auto capitalization

Capital letter at the start of sentences.

Shift + Delete deletes forward

While you hold Shift, Backspace deletes what comes after the cursor.

Double-space period

Tap space twice to insert a period.

Long-press shortcuts

Hold A, C, X, V, Z or Y to select all, copy, cut, paste, undo or redo.

Currency key

The currency on the ?123 page: your language's or the one you pick.

One-handed mode

Shrinks the keyboard to the left or right, within reach of your thumb.

Floating keyboard

The keyboard floats over the app. Drag the bar at the bottom to move it.

Floating when the phone is sideways

With the phone sideways, the keyboard floats and you can drag it by the handle. It remembers where you leave it.

With a word selected, Shift changes its case. The text stays selected, so you can keep tapping.

Autocorrect

Choose how much Brams fixes on its own: Off, Moderate or Aggressive.

Suggestion bar

Shows suggested words above the keys.

Emoji

Shows a matching emoji while you type, like 🍕 for pizza.

Space after picks

Picking a word in the bar adds a space after it. Off, the word goes in without the space.

Remember emails

Suggests the addresses you use most in email fields. On this device only.

Number row

Show a row of numbers above the letters.

Numbers in corners

Shows in the corner of the top letters the number you get with a long press. Off, the number is still in the long press.

Currency row

On ?123, adds a row with currencies and more symbols, which makes the keyboard taller.

Comma key

The comma next to the space bar. Off, the space bar gets wider and the comma stays in ?123.

Period key

The period next to the space bar. Off, the space bar gets wider and the period stays in ?123.

Space after comma

Adds a space right after you type a comma. Turn off to place spaces yourself.

Most used first

The accent or symbol you pick most on each key comes first, right above your finger. Counted only on your phone.

Touch and hold time

How long to hold a key to open accents, symbols and shortcuts. Shorter opens faster; longer avoids opening by accident. If Android’s accessibility asks for a longer delay, that one is used.

Tamil keyboard

InScript is the national standard of India. Tamil99 is the Tamil Nadu standard: vowels on the left, consonants on the right. அ ஆ இ puts the letters in order: vowels on top, consonants below. In Tamil99 and அ ஆ இ the syllable forms by itself (க + ஆ = கா).

Vietnamese Telex

aa = â, ow = ơ, dd = đ, s f r x j = tones. Type a key twice to undo it.

Translate a text

Translate what you wrote without leaving the chat, right on your phone.

Emoji size

Smaller emojis fit more per row. The keyboard also grows while the emoji panel is open.

Skin tone

Emojis that have skin tones use this one in the grid, search and recents. The hand button at the top of the emoji panel changes it too; a long press still shows every tone of one emoji.

Emoji key

A dedicated emoji key next to the space bar. Tap it to open emojis; hold it to pick one of 5.

Emoji key hold

Shows your 5 most recent emojis (completed with the pinned ones), or always the same 5 pinned emojis.

Pinned emojis

Brams Points on the toolbar

Shows your balance next to the tools. Hidden in incognito mode and in password fields.

Character counter

Shows “N/LIMIT” on the bar when the field has a limit. Tap it to see words and characters.

Tools shown

Choose up to 6 tools for the bar above the keys, and their order.

Group the tools

Show a single icon on the toolbar instead of every tool. Tap it to open the group.

Replace on its own

Swaps the shortcut for the text when you press space.

Shortcuts

Type the shortcut and Brams suggests the text. Example: email → your address.

Words Brams picked up from your typing. Remove the ones you don’t want suggested.
